Crown Investments Corporation (CIC) is the holding company for the province’s commercial Crown corporations. CIC oversees subsidiary Crown corporation strategic direction and manages a framework designed to strengthen governance, performance and accountability of Crown corporations and to assist Crown corporation boards in discharging their responsibilities. CIC manages CIC Asset Management Inc. Additionally, CIC provides oversight to a number of funds established with financial assistance or administrative coordination by the provincial government.
Crown Investments Corporation is actively coordinating a collaborative effort by the Crown sector to take decisive action to help ‘flatten the curve’ of the COVID-19 Pandemic here in Saskatchewan.
The safety of Saskatchewan people - ratepayers and Crown sector employees - is CIC’s top priority. The Crown sector is actively coordinating actions with Saskatchewan ministries to achieve a consistent and thorough action plan that will protect the health of all concerned while providing the safe, reliable utilities and services Saskatchewan people expect.
We are actively monitoring the developments around COVID-19 and have ensured Crowns are activating Pandemic Preparedness Plans. We support and encourage actions to stop the spread of the virus, such as:
- enhanced sanitizing of facilities
- frequent hand-washing,
- travel restrictions,
- working remotely where possible,
- participating in meetings via digital and teleconferencing;
- social distancing behaviour;
- self-isolating following any suspected exposure or international travel, as well as with anyone exhibiting flu-like symptoms.
