Crown Investments Corporation (CIC) has invested $4.5 million in Minds Eye Pictures of Regina.
Minds Eye is the largest privately-held motion picture production and
distribution company in Western Canada. The investment is part of $10 million in equity financing raised by the company to fund the growth of its distribution library and a number of acquisitions.
"This is an investment in the expansion of a company which has led the way in developing the rapidly growing motion picture industry in our province," CIC Minister Maynard Sonntag said. "We expect it to benefit Saskatchewan people through both a good financial return, and more jobs as Minds Eye increases its production and distribution activities."
"The opportunities for our company to expand, prosper and return value to our investors are tremendous," Minds Eye Chair and CEO Kevin DeWalt said. "Our greatest challenge over the next few months will be choosing which opportunities to go for."
Crown Investments Corporation is the holding company for Saskatchewan's Crown Corporations and a diversified portfolio of public investments.
Minds Eye Pictures is a fully-integrated production, post-production and distribution company headquartered in Regina, with offices in western Canada and the U.S. Its award-winning feature films, television series, shorts and documentaries have been seen in more than 100 countries and 450 million households worldwide.
