FRANK HART APPOINTED CEO AND PRESIDENT OF CROWN INVESTMENTS CORPORATION

Deputy Premier and Crown Investments Corporation Minister Dwain Lingenfelter announced today that Frank Hart will be the new president and chief executive officer of Crown Investments Corporation. Hart's appointment takes effect on March 16.

"Frank Hart has a record of success in both the private and public sectors," Lingenfelter said. "He has worked with businesses which are key players in the economy of our province. As deputy minister of Economic Development he played an important role in creating a climate for development and job creation in Saskatchewan. We are very pleased to have Mr. Hart leading CIC."

Hart is a vice president with KPMG Canada's National Management Consulting Practice. He graduated from the University of Regina and established a management consulting firm which was acquired by KPMG in 1988. From 1992 to 1995 he served as deputy minister of Economic Development and Trade where he led implementation of the successful Partnership For Renewal strategy and establishment of the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership and Saskatchewan Tourism Authority. At KPMG he has provided management consulting to corporations, governments, co-ops and public agencies and institutions across Canada.

"Public enterprise is a big part of Saskatchewan's economy and contributes a great deal to the growth and development of our province," Lingenfelter said. "We are fortunate to have an individual with considerable experience in the business community to lead the holding company for our Crown corporations and public investments."

Arlene Hynd, Vice-President of Strategic Planning, will be acting president at CIC during the first two weeks of March.
